Good Magic is going to be hard to beat in there. I think Meistermind and King Zachary are horses that will like the distance. |

How does Gronkowski get a 107 figure in his last in the Belmont for running a 59 E1 and 98 LP? That doesn't add up. Exacta box with Good Magic, Gronkowski and Bravazo. Flameaway, Axelrod and Diamond King in the Smarty Jones. |

The wildcard is Vino Rosso. There's been a lot of hype with this horse, but he's been erratic. Good price on Tenfold at 16-1. |

If he wins the Classic is he HOTY over Justify? To me he should be. It's hard to make that argument when Catholic boy didn't even compete in, let alone win, any of the Triple Crown races. I seriously doubt Catholic Boy could have beaten Justify. In terms of class winning, I had Catholic Boy fourth yesterday behind Good Magic, Mendelsohn and Wonder Gadot. By that measure, he was about fair value at 8-1. Gronkowski's dubious 107 figure in his last and only start threw the speed analysis for the race off as the top figure in the entire field. If there was a reason to take Catholic Boy, it was his G1 and G3 wins in his last two starts. Whoever did, good for them for believing in the horse. It goes to show you do get probabilistic results in winners that aren't the favorites sometimes, even in these big races. |
