I think Independence Hall will be tough in this race. The one thing I don't like was his regression in his last race. Either Alaajweed or Sole Volante might be able to beat him. I was impressed by Sole Volante on turf two back in the Pulpit. He just had a super bullet workout of 0:58 for 5f on Feb. 3, albeit on grass. Alaajweed runs like a freight train. The question is whether Rosario can get him going in time, that he doesn't have to suffer a bad trip by having to go too wide around the far turn before hitting the stretch. Premiere Star looked a little shaky down the stretch in his last on Jan. 15, even though the jockey was urging him hard with the whip.

This is one race I would be comfortable playing the tri-fecta box with those top three.

Independence Hall may not be able to overcome another slow start now that he's in tougher company. He's been green in every start. All over the place in the stretch and shying every time he sees the whip. Also, it's his first time around two turns. I think it's worth trying to beat him here.

Sole Volante showed he's a contender for the Kentucky Derby. He made it look easy at the end, like he was gliding. Buck and a quarter won't be a problem.

Not too often, if at all, you see a horse working 0:58 for 5f. He was primed and ready to go today. Finished the 1 1/16 mi. in 1:42:60, a good time.
