Connecticut 30-1

Without a prohibitive favorite this season, these are very tasty odds for a talented team that is starting to gel, and might be playing better than any other team right now.

Caveat that I know absolutely nothing about college basketball:

I saw them struggle pretty badly against a mediocre GT team at home this weekend. Remember that I am basketball retarded, so, you know, don't worry too much about my basketball advice.

I think 30-1 is a great score. The programs that have history and a legendary coach...that struggle in a given season.....are always great value at these kind of odds.

I got Tennessee at 12-1 and Washington State at 24-1 earlier in the year. The Washington State one I'm not so keen on and have seen that at 40-1 now. As for Tennessee I see that one bouncing between 10 and 12-1.

Im guessing there wont be much value here but as of right now I think Duke has the best chance of winning it all.

I sure like this Duke team, but 8-1 is just not long enough.

When Duke meets a team with a very good inside outside game, they will struggle in the tournament. Their big men absolutely suck.

If you are looking for a long shot, Kansas State at 50-1 is nice. They have the talent to make a final four run.

Louisville at 18-1 would intrigue me, but I don't know if they are good enough. Injuries and suspensions cost them early. They could get on quite a roll.

Purdue 75-1: No, save your money. Not going to happen.

I'd recommend a little play on Louisville

I love Louisville. I wish I got them earlier. 10-1 just isn't worth it, in my humble opinion.

They are certainly a team that I have going deep in the tourney.

According to the linesmakers' power ratings, Georgetown is the 8th best team in the nation. They also are in the top 5 in defense, so they make a lot of good teams struggle. They may be mediocre in your world, and they may be mediocre when compared to other great teams throughout history, but they're not mediocre compared to other teams this year.

There are 18 teams that have the same, or higher, power ratings than UConn. So getting 30-1 seems like good value to me.

I have a sizable bet selling short against Duke. They don't have the inside game to beat teams they will likely have to play. Live by the trey, die by the trey.

Coast, I think Irish Boy was referring to Georgia Tech.

ahh. ok. Conn scored 80 pts. against Georgia Tech and won by double digits. I'm not sure how that classifies as "struggling".

The game was close well into the 2nd half, I wanna say it was tied with 6 minutes left, when Tech fell apart under pressure. The score didn't reflect it, but it was a close game. Since it was first time watching UConn all year, I came away unimpressed.

What are the thoughts on Michigan State's chances in the big dance?
I like the value, but their lack of success on the road this season is a huge concern.

Don't even think about it. They may make a decent run but they aren't good enough to win the title. They'll be very good in the future but they aren't a top contender yet. No team in the Big Ten is but I would expect all of them to make sweet sixteen runs.

Don't be surprised to see four Big Ten teams in the sweet sixteen, one left in the elite 8, and they are all gone by the final four.

I know I am biased (see Avatar). I think that State has the ingredients to get hot and go on a 6 game winning streak. That's all is takes to win it all.

They have several servicable bigs (Suton, Naymick, Gray). Raymar Morgan is an explosive (yet inconsistent) wing. Drew Neitzel has senior experience and can run the show.

I realize we are not as good as the Flint Stones who won it in 2000 or even our Final Four teams of 1999 and 2001. However, the best team does not always win. The team playing the best who gets favorable matchups usually cuts the nets down Championship Night. :D

PICK EXACT COMBINATION OF FOUR # 1 SEEDS # Money Line
3522 NORTH CAROLINA-MEMPHIS-UCLA-TENNESSE +220
3523 NORTH CAROLINA-MEMPHIS-UCLA-KANSAS +220
3524 NORTH CAROLINA-MEMPHIS-UCLA-DUKE +220
3525 NONE OF THE ABOVE +270

I like this bet. I don't see any way that Memphis gets to the Final Four.
