Michael Lewis wins the Pat O'Brien at Delmar paying $19.40. And I was watching AJ in a rundown!

Saw the race. Michael Lewis looked impressive, but his main competition broke badly and never had much of a chance. It's nice to see that someone can cash a decent ticket on a Calabrese horse somewhere.

Hmm, Lewis Michael, right guys?

Calabrese made the right decision and stayed home this time. He tends to be bad luck for the homebreds. :-) He set a track record in the process and will get a trip to the Breeders Cup. For as much shit the combo takes locally, it's good to see their big guns perform well.

In the feature, god that Student Council is a rat. I hate that horse. Go Between will be a bear if he runs in the Classic - he eats up that Poly.

Catalano was quoted as saying even though he gets an auto into the Sprint, it's the Dirt Mile or nothing for Lewis Michael.

That's what they were mentioning on the ESPN broadcast. After his showing last year and the presence of Benny the Bull, I can't say that I blame him.

Lewis Michael is a miler. 7 furlongs is about the low end of his ability. He's a monster on Poly and would be great in a dirt mile scenario. 6 furlongs would not be a good choice for him. I still question his ability against G1 competition, but he should get a chance to show his worth.
