Thanks, but why do you say that? He had ample opportunity to opt out prior to doing it.

If anything, I felt like he thought I was going to ask him what color Dan Bernstein's underwear is and at some point he realized that question wasn't coming until the next time I interview him and he just settled in.


I think he agreed to it, and then realized what it was. He was polite and had the guts to go through with it, but it sounded like he was apprehensive about it being associated with the board when he realized. Makes me think he would not have accepted if he knew ahead of time.
I think he wants to avoid the bottom 10% of posters here who take things to unfortunate levels but the podcast provides a buffer.

It's hard to hear at the beginning but when I asked him the "infamous" question, he replied something to the effect of "you aren't that important". I thought that was pretty funny.

He knew ahead of time. There was a lot of communication via DM on Twitter prior to doing it.

He knew what this was.

In all honesty, I think that made him more likely to do it, especially since Mac (his model for what he wants to be as a sports talker) did it.

Overall, I applaud Parkins for going on the show, but he completely lost me with the way he flippantly dismissed ever participating here.

You can tell someone at the station, likely upper management, or a disgruntled co-worker who has had his lunch handed to him here before and did not handle it well, influenced or mandated that decision, and it left me feeling that the guy who I thought was a courageous champion of free thought, was actually just another spineless drone.

This place is the perfect forum for a guy like that. He would swim just fine among the sharks. If he was not told not to come here, it is sheer cowardice for him to abstain. Phooey, Parkins. Shame on you.

Just heard it.

Pretty interesting. You did OK, Doc. Some good questions.

But I thought you missed your shot, Dr. Ken. This guy was willing to talk. You should have sensed that and gone deeper with the questions. Gone harder. I know you were nervous at first. I get that. But you should have figured out the mood and tone. It was relaxed and easy.

Next time you get him just read my questions from the board. Let me know in advance when you get him.

Get him quick. Cuz they all hate and ignore us eventually. Mainly because of me.
