The baseball card stuff is near and dear to my heart. My collection spans 1983-1989. I went to a show sometime in the 90’s when they started all that professional grading. It definitely seem like a racket.

Unfortunately so many of the great players from the 80’s fell into various traps from steroids (Bonds/McGwire/Canseco) to drug issues (Gooden/Strawberry) that the best players ended up flaming out. You are down to guys like Sandberg, Boggs, and Gwynn as ones that have held up from the value in that era. I have some Grif Jr stuff as he came along at the tail end of my collection.

Alas, things did not go well with Dr. Ken's rating experience subsequent to this recording.

I'll probably give an update next week. It would appear that we took too good of care of them.

My crypto investments are not padding the retirement fund today either.
