Narrow window to catch salmon in the lake is approaching quickly. Anyone gifted with patience and thick skin necessary to engage in this? Tips, tricks?

Out of McKinley Marina up here, we got 6 Lake Trout, 1 Brown Trout and 2 King Salmon. It was a half day charter.

I was invited by a vendor and we had 4 people on the boat, the boat will take up to 6. For a weekend half day it was $550.00 and he gave the captain $100.00. You can bring your own booze and food on the boat, no glass. Yes, he cut them all up as we were coming back in and just threw the rest of the fish back in the lake. It is the 2nd time I have done it and really enjoyed it. You figure you get 6 guys at about $110.00 a piece, hell I have spent a lot worse money than that and haven't enjoyed myself as much.

An honest question here. What is your intention when you post? Was that a second attempt to be funny?

Hawg is providing some actual info about something, others having actual information and questions and yet, here you are. Seems to have gotten much worse on your behalf. Maybe it is just your complete obsession with me and the need to comment on each post I make, but I would like to know what the issue is?

  Seriously? Ok, I'll give an honest answer then. But first,

We could ask the same thing of about 90% of the posts you make. Like your SQL posts...was that to brag about how you are paying for the board, and how much more the search function costs?

Oh no, somebody made a sarcastic comment in a thread you are posting in! Certainly that has never happened on this board! Might as well crucify me.

Its not an obsession so much as it is calling you out on your bullshit, or pointing out how there is always something else going on in most of your posts. Be it giving partial information on a story, knowledge of a political issue you claim to have, somebody you met, a humble brag, or whatever...there is almost always an ulterior motive when you post.

 Then let me simplify it out for you as best I can. Its not that I don't like you. Its that I think (and I'm not the only one here) that you are full of shit more often than not when you post. Maybe its not flat out made up stories, but what little truth you choose to share at times is generally embellished at least a little bit.

Now go ahead and make a retort about how many people send you PMs about me or my posts or whatever. Truth be told I understand I'm not liked by some. Thats fine. I'm not perfect and some posts of mine are hit or miss. I honestly could not care less about what you or anybody else thinks of me on this board.

Hope you have a fun charter or wherever it is you end up fishing at, Coach.

Still waiting for the answer to the question, now that you have got your hatred of me off your chest.

Did I tell you I was at the cubs game with one of the original 10 guys who started Facebook?

not sure if I should help pay for Franks shrink or charge him for giving him a place to vent, either way he never answered or even addressed the question.

A couple responses to points/questions here:

Henry's tips: keep it, they won't disclose the real stuff if they know it, I tried, mostly BS.

Charter: no, I'm too cheap to charter a boat. I just fill up a big coffee mug with patience spiked coffee at 4 am and camp out at Montrose, Du Sable, or Burnham with two poles and a variety of lures and bait. I never powerlined, but was always fascinated by it.

No shore fishermen? I used to go with my old man to 95th St and to some spots in Indiana (mostly the Hammond Marina). You have to actually stand up and walk so that might be a bit much for you big shooter charter boat types.

I see these guys fishing at Montrose within 100 feet of the same guys boat that have gas/oil slicks on the water. Just never would do that

Thank goodness for the 100 feet warning signs! You really think they are actually 100 feet apart?

Havent really looked for those but if I was 200 feet from a boat that is leaking oil, still not into the fishing.
