PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan has ruled out ever working with LIV Golf, despite a host of the world’s best players moving to the Saudi Arabia-backed rebel tour.

Speaking at the Presidents Cup at Quail Hollow, where LIV players are banned from both the US and International teams, Monahan reiterated his stance on the Greg Norman-fronted tour and shot down any hope of a positive relationship.

“I think I’ve been pretty clear on this. I don’t see it happening,” he said. “When you look at where we are and you think about words and actions we are currently in a lawsuit so coming together and having conversations, to me, that card is off the table and has been for a long period of time.

I saw this as headline news on ESPN .

I have no idea about golf but from an layman's pov, it looks like LIV won and won big.

They forced PGA to make changes that golfers were asking for for decades.

And now they got the merger.

But it's probably bad for golfers. PGA now can go back to their grandfathered ways and not be forced to update the game.

Remember Greg Norman in the 80s with the Green Boston Celtics hat - wink wink nudge nudge - everyone knew what that guy was always about.

He helped a bit but when Norman was in his heyday a big time purse at a golf tournament was $1 million for the entire field with the winner taking $180k. Tiger is the one that really moved the meters with making pro golfers generationally rich.
