I understand you're playing for a share of nearly $7 million dollars and that's a lot of pressure, but JB Holmes spent 5 minutes on the par 5 18th deciding between going for the pin in 2 and laying up, effectively icing his two playing partners, one of whom was tied for the lead.

That's just a bag move and incredibly unsportsmanlike, and to top it off he chunked his layup shot into the rough and took another couple of minutes lining up his attempt at an up and down. Nantz said the final group is on pace for a 6 hour round, that's just insane.

The worst part is that he needed an eagle to get to a playoff, but then lays up after that wait. WTF? I guess he was just out to collect a check.
I didn't see this. I did see the last 4 holes of the playoff. Crazy how both Day & Noren got their birds with not being able to see their 2nd/3rd shots and putts.

If Holmes was waiting for the green to clear, that's one thing. Otherwise it should be a 90 second (at most) process to decide if you are going to give it a go or not.

Day wins with a birdie on the 18th hole today after Noren put his 2nd shot into the drink.

I thought it was a respectable showing by Tiger. He is far from back but showed some signs with the short game. He has to be
able to get off the tee much better and also needs to get his irons closer. They did state that it is one of the harder courses they
play early in the season so I give him credit for getting out there and grinding. Watched quite a bit of it in part because he was
there.

Tiger showed a lot of promise last week. Making the cut and finishing under par after 12 months is quite impressive.

Hasn’t it always been said that Torrey Pines is like a home course to him? Did he play there a ton before moving to FL?

He's had a lot of success there winning multiple times. I can't comment on how much he played there growing up. I am sure he felt relatively
comfortable which is why he picked that tournament to open up with.

It's one of the hardest driving courses on tour. Narrow fairways, hard ground, and extremely high winds is a tough combination. Rory Sabbatini led the field at 69.64%. Branden Grace leads the tour overall at 77.98%.

The bar has been set so incredibly low for Tiger Woods. It used to be a good season if he won a major. Now people are getting excited that he finished a tournament.

There's no way these attendance figures at the WM event are accurate, are they? Claiming something like 200K per round.

16th holds 20k, seems unlikely you would have ten times that.

Those figures are trash.

Hold on, let's recycle those numbers.

They're gonna get 250k+ on Saturday. Maybe 200k+ on Sunday. Somewhere around 150k on the Thursday/Friday rounds.
That place is huge. There are big grandstands on several holes, not just the stadium 16. Plus, do they count practice/Pro-Am attendance on the total figures?

This tournament is sports bucket-list for me. Someday...

More trash talk than usual.

This one is also on my tournament bucket list. Somewhere in the top 5.

Commentators all seem to be in agreement that there should be more of these kinds of "let your hair down and freak flag fly" tournaments on the tour to attract a younger audience and grow the game. While I agree, the players better be prepared to deal with more "screaming non sequiturs too early and interrupting a backswing" like what happened to Spieth on the green yesterday.

My niece is going today. She worked at a concession stand on Wednesday and met Jordan Spieth and Aaron Rodgers.

I hate that NBC leaves like a half hour no coverage of a tournament as they hand off coverage to CBS on weekends. That blackout gets longer when there's a shitty college game that's taking FOR-EVER to wrap up. Missouri and Kentucky are bludgeoning each other with like 45 points apiece with 10 minutes to go in the game, fantastic.

Agreed. This bullshit should be on CBS sports net, or not at all.

I'm so glad I get to watch a bad Kentucky team and an unranked Missouri team shoot 50% from the line instead of one of the more entertaining golf tournaments of the year.

The game had 57 seconds left at 3:28pm. It's 3:39pm, and there is 32 seconds left.

What entertainment

Did you see the cutaway where the "sideline reporter" (not sure what she would be called in golf) did the math on the attendance figures?

The numbers were all wrong for the weekend, which then led to her math being WAY off. It was kinda funny.
