Ham radio equipment? Though not sure how useful that would be without electricity....

You can go buy a .308 bolt action rifle from Cabelas that will be almost impossible to break and in an afternoon of practice become reasonably accurate at ranges a bow and wouldn't even break the skin. Its not even close. I think my max range with a bow is 15 to 30 yards. Archery is a difficult skill to master at any decent range. Theres a reason an archery Turkey harvest is regarded as highly as it is a while any schmoe can go out and shotgun a Turkey. That's why I shoot them.
A smart survivalist probably wants a lightweight scout rifle and a larger caliber handgun. An even smarter survivalist worries more about fresh water than weaponry.

Your jeep should have a diesel if you want an apocalypse vehicle.
Bows are good, scout rifles for game and handguns for defense are better.
Learn how to purify water or find it.
Make sure you have a way of building fires.
Learn how to fish.
Learn how to build traps.
