What a baby. It mystifies me that people like Billie Jean King would come to her defense, after she accuses the chair umpire of being sexist to rule against her in an all womens Championship match, only because she couldn't play the race card.

Rules are rules. She is not allowed to receive coaching during the match, which she did, and then she lied that she didn't. Then to accuse the umpire of cheating by having deducted a point for her outburst is plain wrong. He was fully in his right to do that to make her shut her hole.

Serena should have known better. And yes, she should dress more modestly for matches. She's a woman.

Since the judge is Hispanic, racism can't be used so she only had the sexism card. Typical SJW stuff.

Sorry, didn't catch it. I am not a regular reader of the Douchebag or Shoutouts threads.

I only put it here, because it applies to tennis, and Rec Room is the closest that comes to having to do with tennis, without tennis having its own category.

But I agree that Serena is a douchebag and belonged under that thread. Excuse the redundancy.

The thing that gets me is all the sympathetic news coverage of Serena, painting her as the victim because she's black, when she clearly was in the wrong.

She embarrassed herself in front of the whole world and turned the U.S. Open Championship match into a side-show. She should be grateful that there is even womens tennis at all as a professional sport. Otherwise, what would she be doing? Getting knocked up with no husband.

It's not technically true. Her child was born before she was married. So was her being knocked-up.

Without invoking Christian doctrine, please explain why this matters?

How about the child is a bastard and therefore, illegitimate. The legitimacy means something within the sanctity of marriage and in establishing rightful lineage. If there were no sanctity of marriage and no family lineage, there would be no society to speak of, just disorder with people acting like animals.

In terms of Christian doctrine, it's very simple: bad fruit cannot bring forth good fruit. Only good fruit can bring forth good fruit.

A child born out of wedlock would be a tare and not wheat in God's eyes.

Well, it wasn't your used-up mother.

Aren't there a handful of animals who mate with one partner their whole life? They don't need sanctity of marriage to understand monogamy.

As some friendly advice, you're not going to win this argument by saying it's ok for humans to be or act like animals. Maybe not you, but most people understand there is a clear difference between the two.

It comes from an Australian paper. The cartoonist was trying to portray her as a baby throwing a tantrum, hence the pacifier.

People automatically were looking at the racist angle, but ignoring the plain meaning of it. It's a caricature.

Do you want really want this image out there, and associated with your name, interests? Not a good look.

It's in the news, subject for discussion. I didn't say it was tasteful. But it's obvious it's a caricature.

Yeah, it's a caricature and I'm not gonna judge the artist's intentions. But I would say that there is a long history of negative caricatures designed to dehumanize black people. The fact that caricatures by their very nature accentuate certain features makes it shaky ground to do it with a black person. There should be a line there. It's not like the guy isn't earning any heat he takes for this cartoon. Drawing a caricature of Serena with giant lips and a huge ass like that is a little different than the one my dad had drawn of him in New Orleans where he had a gigantic nose.

It's incredibly de-humanizing to African Americans. If you are cool with that good luck to you. I'm surprised you want to put that out there while promoting your online business and all your contacts through IU School of Business. Stuff like this gets out.
