Best prepping food IMHO is canned refried beans. You should have at least 3 months worth per person.

Have at least B-12 vitamins, because you need it to survive.

And get a water purifier. They're not too expensive.

My plan would be to try to make it up to Wisconsin. I wouldn't want to stay in Illinois. Illinois will be a war zone.
