Crazy how many are so close to the lead. Looks like a playoff of some sort.

I had to run an errand and missed that drive. But I went back and looked at it. Damn what a shot.

Same. Always nice to see a guy get thier first Major, especially a 'vetran'

Morikawa might be too good though.

Morikawa will probably be the winner.

I was glad to see Brooks Koepka shit the bed. His head has gotten way to big.

Quote:
“I like my chances,” Koepka said. “When I’ve been in this position before, I’ve capitalized. I don’t know, (Johnson)’s only won one. I’m playing good. I don’t know, we’ll see. I was glancing at the leaderboard and of the ten guys that are up there, there’s been, what, three majors?” he continued. “DJ has been in this spot a couple of times and he hasn’t been able to capitalize.”

Shout out to Rory!

Quote:
“I was watching the golf last night and heard the interview and was just sort of taken aback a little bit by sort of what he said and whether he was trying to play mind games or not,” McIlroy told reporters after his final round 68. “If he’s trying to play mind games, he’s trying to do it to the wrong person. I don’t think DJ really gives much of a concern that. Yeah, I mean, sort of hard to knock a guy that’s got 21 wins on the PGA Tour, which is three times what Brooks has,” he said.

Talk about someone who needs to read the room. The elite in the PGA are, by and large, -very- supportive of each other these days. This rivalry stuff just doesn't fly with the culture going on. Really not sure what he was trying to do by saying that... maybe he wants to be the "bad boy" of golf, but I don't even thing advertisers are interested in backing a "bad boy" of golf right now. There are just too many guys who are all very good and nobody has really elevated their game to where they can be considered the "favorite" in any given week.

I did enjoy Phil's commentary on Saturday -- I think probably not a bad career move to start working on that a little bit and see if he likes it. You have to do something when you "retire" -- I guess he could go on the old folks tour, but I imagine he could make more money doing almost anything else. I didn't think he was that bad, he just has to get used to some of the timing and the ins/outs of the coverage so he isn't stepping over the music/other announcers.

Thinking about the asterisking of events, I think the golf majors won't be affected the same way that this MLB season is, only because the golf event is four days every single time. Maybe you could argue that you would have had an invite if they played more tournaments during the year, but pretty much anyone who is anyone was there. With MLB having a 1/3 season and inviting 50%+ of the teams to the playoffs, it seems a lot more gimmicky. Nobody was stopping Rory or Spieth or Bryson or Day or whoever from winning this thing... I think they will absolutely need to get fans back in order to help meet some of these payout schedules (I can't imagine how much they lost in gate/concessions/package plans.) At the very least, it distracts me enough from people putting with the pin in.
