I think -3 will be leading at the end of the day. Happy to see McIlroy claw back today.

Reed has to start hitting fairways. You can’t grind that hard. Biggest difference between him and Wolff thus far.

Matsuyama looks really good right now and Bryson won’t give in. Shaping up for a great Sunday. I’ll have to tune in for back nine after the Bears and keep an eye on the leaderboard

If he was able to keep the train at least someone on the tracks yesterday afternoon, he would be right in the mix.

They're getting in scoring range on the greens, but Wolff/Reed/Dechambeau all missed puts in the 5 to 10 foot range they thought would break and didn't

I thought Wolff would poop his pants heading in. Only his 2nd major. These kids have balls of steel. All the years of junior golf and college tournaments.

For a young guy like that it's probably a little easier for them to play with empty galleries.

I didn't get a chance to watch today but I listened on XM when I was alone in the car. Looks like Winged Foot won, and produced the (to me) near perfect result: even par comes in 2nd.

The average Sunday score for the twelve guys who finished 2nd through the 5 way tie for 8th was a little over 73. At the back, three 82s, two 81s, two 80s. And Morikowa just blew up with a 78, and he's the guy I thought was going to win.

Wolff has a pretty interesting, hitch to his giddy up. Dechambeau looks like one of those long drive competitors...man he takes some massive cuts at the ball.

now that was a US Open I could respect. Not happy with the winner or the lack of drama in the final day, but loved watching the carnage.

any 2020 major winner gets a big asterisk by it, that goofball bryson isnt winning a us open if he's surrounded by a gallery on every hole

I would be willing to make a wager with you that both of the major winners so far this year win again. Bryson is one of only 3 golfers to ever win a U.S. Amateur, an NCAA Championship and a U.S. Open. Perhaps you have heard of the other 2, Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus.

I wonder if Bryson will get imitators. He has huge grips, and all of his irons are the same length, just the angle of the club face is different. At least that’s what I read somewhere.

He got his idea from Koepka killing them at Bethpage.

Bryson was quoted afterward as saying that the USGA made the course too narrow for the guys who are good fairway hitters. The implication being that he could just bomb the shit out of it and be confident that everyone else was in the rough as well but just 20 yards back. Plus his play around the greens was solid.

One of the retired players on the radio (I think it was Mark Lye) criticized the USGA for taking too many trees off of most tournament courses including Winged Foot. He said the rough itself isn't enough if you can hit it so far that you're just left with 9 iron to the green.

Going into Sunday I believe, Bryson had hit 40% of the fairways, the field was hitting 39.8%.

Pulled out a few weeks ago, he has a serious knee issue that will probably affect his career.

He was 26th in fairways hit...but 5th in greens in regulation.
