A lot of chit chat about tickets and other things but didn't see a thread to discuss the actual tournament yet. I've seen some pics of the grounds and it looks to be in great shape like we would all expect. Weather looks to be potentially rainy and temps in the 70s so that will be nice opposed to some of the cold weather they can get in April. I don't have any real great inside info or predictions but I would assume the usual suspects could be in the mix and the course will favor big hitters like Johnson, Koepka and McIlroy. Big wildcard will be DeChambeau.... check out this article I read yesterday...

Not sure if he has enough experience there yet but hitting in lofted irons to these greens will be a huge advantage. I'll be interested to see where some of the balls end up with no patrons to stop them from rolling.

I was disappointed that they are not having the Par 3 contest but I guess that makes sense with no patrons. Selfishly I like to watch it since that is where many of my dad's ashes are spread. My sister in law had tickets this year and was allowed to shop the online store. I ended up getting a collared golf shirt, I already have a lot of memorabilia.

Throw out your picks and analysis. If I was pinned down on it I would say I am rooting for McIlroy to complete the grand slam but as always, just hoping for a tournament that comes down to the last 18 holes. They will be teeing off early again this year to get in the football in the afternoon.

I don't know if the football games matter with the early tee times, the bigger issue hours of sunlight. Especially Thursday and Friday with a full field.

Interesting to see they changed the cut, it used to be the Top 44 and ties or anyone within 10 shots of the lead. It will now just be the Top 50 and ties.

They are lucky it's relatively warm down there this week. I think that Bryson will be close but I don't think he will win. DJ only lost at Houston because of the rust on his first round. It's hard not to go chalk and take the world #1.

If I was wagering, I'd put $5 on Tony Finau, and the two guys playing their first Masters: Morikawa and Wolff.

I don't think Phil makes the cut.

I have a couple of work calls on Thursday, but I plan to watch the ESPN+ Amen Corner featured holes as much as possible on Thursday and Friday, and the Featured Groups on Saturday. Not sure what I'll do on Sunday, I need to work on getting my antenna to pick up the CBS affiliate if masters dot com is overloaded.

I can't wait. As always I will be pulling for Tiger, but Rory is a close second.

I'm pretty confident that Bryson could show up at one iof the courses I play at with a 60 degree wedge and one golf ball, no putter and no tees, play off the senior tees with me, and shoot 70 while I shoot 104 with a full bag.

I'd like to see how far he could drive a ball off a tee with putter.

It's funny that he hardly looks at the ball flight and immediately turns to look at the numbers.

I’m just not feeling it yet. I think the lack of patrons will affect this event more than any other major especially on Sunday. A big part of the viewing excitement are the roars from 15 and 16.

Hopefully as the coverage starts tomorrow I’ll get a little more pumped about it. Sounds like rain in the morning for Tiger and a back 9 start. Hopefully the temps allow his back to not get too stiff.

I think Bryson realistically could make 6 or 7 eagles and will probably birdie all the 16 par 5’s in 4 rounds. His length will definitely give him an advantage and if he putts just decent he’ll be hard to reign in or chase down. Koepka played well last week so he’s rounding into form. DJ also. Xander is my pick if Bryson doesn’t run away with it.

As I’m typing all this I’m starting to get pumped.

I know here in NC it is raining like hell right now. Welcome to Hurricane Season at the Masters.

Those have been old news my friend. Coincided with first my use of “foe” then a certain voluntary leaving the board. Kinda funny actually.
