Review: Stayed at the Majestic Colonial. It was exactly what was needed and everything I expected. The question is what did I expect.
The service was really good and even with my limited spanish was able to get whatever I needed whenever. The grounds, pool, beach and rooms were extremely good. This was enhanced with upgrade to the "Colonial Club" which got you rooms and two pools with bars that had no one under 18. Also, secluded beach area. Some other perks like a butler and a concierge club etc. Worth the extra $125 or whatever. Bar was regular all-inclusive but did have top shelf if you asked i.e. Grey Goose, Cuervo etc. Beer was the local Presidente (think Miller Lite with a drop or two of Heineken in it) and Coors Light in the rooms and VIP club.
Other than that weather awesome and am now relaxed. Go or don't I do not care.
Edit: I should add something about the food I guess. It was fine but you are not going to make five star en made for a couple thousand people at that price point. They had the four "reservation" place they all have and as usual the hibachi joint was the better of them.
