I believe it is a reference to a scene from the final season of Mad Men. Peggy and Joan go to McCann with a cross-promotional proposition between brands, and they meet with low-level ad men very reminiscent of the Sterling Cooper frat boy corps of the first season. The very caricature of white bro's that Julie regularly lambastes on twitter. Anyway, these guys are incredibly rude to Peggy and Joan, despite Peggy being the creative lead and Joan being both the account point man and a partner at the firm. They make jokes about Joan's tits, say she should show them off to get what she wants, and don't even bother to read their prospectus until the very end of the meeting. At the end of the scene, there's a shot of Peggy and Joan in an elevator after the humiliation, and they're both silent for a few beats before Peggy tries to say something, and all Joan can muster is a rageful "I want to burn this place to the ground."

I don't really get its use as a feminist rallying cry, because at the end of the day...Joan and Peggy didn't do anything about it. None of the bro's got fired, they were forced to be absorbed by McCann and adopted into that culture, and Joan even tried playing chicken with the head of McCann for a buyout of her stake of the company, and ended up only getting cents on the dollar. Nothing was burned to the ground.

Never saw an episode of Mad Men.

Does she not realize this sets a laughably low upper limit on the number of black men in media? If you told Julie one out of every eight people you hire would be black, she'd call you a racist, despite that being demographically correct.

i guarantee you she was not aware that was a MLK quote. otherwise she would have pointed that out to begin with. and it's probably his most famous words too.

A couple years ago my wife surprised me by taking my old SS tapes and having them put on CD and on my phone. Didn't get all the songs, but some of the crowd favorites including "Booger Sugar" and "Summer's Here, you all suck" were saved from extinction. So they are available but I'm not sure how I would relay that to you.
