That's not ok.

Sometimes you have to split your infinitives: "to boldly go where no man has gone before." It's like the "don't end with a preposition" rule, where slavish devotion to it can make you sound clunkier than you would have if you'd just broken the damn rule in the first place.

I'd have said "not to support us," though.

I understand the call for solidarity, but Julie WYCs herself on it because she's the same person who said the worst part of women getting fired from ESPN was that they'd pass her for freelance jobs.

It's okay to split an infinitive if you need to add an adverb that specifically describes the verb in the infinitive phrase, as your example illustrates.

I refuse to abide by the preposition rule.

Loves All the President's Men, went to journalism school, and still the ethics of using unnamed sources as the bedrock for grand proclamations and insinuations are lost on her.

I thought she went to law school?
Maybe I'm an idiot but is there "journalism" schools or does pretty much every college and university just have journalism classes?

Post subject:  Re: Julie DiCaro!!!

Oh... she "studied" journalism and French at Indiana before she went to law school.
So... she didn't exactly go to journalism school. She took a few classes. Maybe. She might as well say she went to French school.

Journalism is an undergraduate degree.

Law school is a post-graduate program.

One can get an undergraduate degree in journalism and then go onto law school. Many law school attendees major in writing-heavy undergraduate majors

"At this point, I'm not 22 and afraid to open my mouth," said DiCaro, who lives in the suburbs with her husband and two teenage sons. "I do it a lot. And it rubs people the wrong way."

Anyway in this version of her past she majored in journalism and did so because of "the sportswriters" on WGN which she listened to by sticking a pink radio out of her window.

Yeah I get that. It's odd hearing it referred to as "Journalism school". She just says she studied it, never heard her say she got an undergrad degree in it. Or french.

I don't know about that. Abbatacola and all these people are always advertising these broadcasting schools on the radio. I don't know if they're Associates programs or what.

Some universities have Journalism schools as part of the university. I'm sure all the Medill people st Northwestern say they are in Journalism school.

Gotcha. It just seemed odd phrasing to say she was inspired to go to journalism school.

I would assume, some type of certificate. Probably like 6-9 months of "school" and an unpaid interneship.

edit: Just looked it up, 9 month program.

If more women showed up to games than men, they might. But, I can't remember those days they celebrate men other than a father's day thing.

She understands less about basic economics than any human that ever lived. She thinks a company should go broke catering to women.

And in this circumstance, I'm not even sure what she's asking for. She just wants MLB to market to women more? There's no fucking market!
