Her rebuttal to McEnroe was pretty stupid too. He was asked by a reporter then pressed specifically to provide an opinion on her . She's acting like he just tweeted that out randomly.


She played the victim in her response by saying he picked on her while she was pregnant.

What's amazing is the outpouring to defend her against something that is clearly truthful.

So Julie (and the shitlib in the clip) want the Wild West on unnamed sources, clinging to visions of Woodward and Bernstein? The best part is the whiny dude in the clip in defending completely uncorroborated reporting with "if we get it wrong, the viewers can chance the channel or not read our stuff". I'm not a scholar of journalism, but it seems to me that "ethics" and "journalism ethics" are not very concerned with getting a story right. They are concerned with, you know, ethical behavior.

I'm not an expert on journalistic standards. That being said, I have no problem with unnamed sources. But those sources have to be reliable, and the story needs to be true. If you can get to a reasonable certainty that you are reporting truth, then you can run with the story. You also have to retract or edit if you subsequently find out that you made a mistake.

What seems to be going on now is a rush to run with questionable stories. I'd say that Rolling Stones campus investigation is probably the worst case of this. The writers need to have a skepticism of all their sources instead of hoping to confirm their suspicions that Trump and Putin are colluding.
