Herron isn't condescending.

Never heard him with Goff before Goff got fired from Serius, but Herron is a polite guy. Too polite in my opinion

They're both long winded guys. They like to give 5 minute answers to a simple question. Maybe Goff didn't like him cuz he took air time away from him

But if Goff hates Herron, it means he can't get along with anybody. Goff has shown a long history of not getting along with people.

I wonder if Herron got Goff fired from that Serius show. You know, maybe he said something behind the scenes.

What's Goff doing now? Does he only have Bulls pre and post at the moment? Or is he doing a podcast that makes no money like so many?

Sir must be really feeling his oats these days in actually bringing up a problem with a co worker while he still works with him. Next thing you know he may actually say something to a person's face.

I was one who listened to them together on Big10 radio pretty regularly. Ant was the one who really could carry the show. Goff was exactly the way goff has always been. Ant knows what he's doing Goff had no real insightful thoughts. My guess is that Ant tried to help Goff get better and Goff took it as patronization and tried to big time Ant.

Naw, only with guys he thinks he can physically intimidate, a dude with a landslide physique like Murphy yes, but a former NFL D lineman like Herron, no way. Herron has built a nice little niche for himself doing college fb and picking up shifts her and there, why would he respect Goff who pissed away a golden opportunity to host drive time? Surprised Goff and Holmes, especially Holmes with the cakewalk masters in broadcasting, have not moved into the lucrative "diversity coordinator" role within a public or private organization? There should also be plenty of jobs as PR/spokesperson for the social workers who will be sucking up the funding in the cities where they are defunding/redirecting police. There seem to be endless opportunities that will open up in the near future with far better pay and benefits than part time radio/TV work.

I like his idea that the horse is reaching communities. The Dan Ryan is a twelve-lane expressway that slices through the city. If anything, it's anti-community.

Yeah seems like a great move to defend this guy and of course, Kim Foxx's office trying to work their magic as usual. If this were someone whom Goff disagreed with, the facebook posts would be screenshot and forwarded to his employer asking why are they employing someone who is defending animal cruelty.

The Census Cowboy or whatever is clearly a piece of shit to mistreat an animal in his care to that degree. I saw a lot of it live on NBC, and you could see that the animal was bleeding and distressed. He never dismounted, and passed up several exits.

Goff is so successful:

And likable:

What a disingenuous statement that was. And this is ignoring what an unlikable self-entitled douchebag Goff has always been.

Is Goff almost 60 and incapable of finding other work? Does Goff's kid have something making him incapable of caring for himself longterm? (Hold the jokes) Was Goff's stated purpose for working saving money for the care of his child? Goff also was almost immediately gifted shifts on ESPN 1000. Mac is now blacklisted.

Goff seems to have a penchant for burning bridges. All of his snide asides at 670 management and radio hosts ... He seems like such an insufferable douchebag.

Yeah, he could have been professional (like Spiegal) and been in contention for Mac’s spot. Instead, he won’t even be considered.

You have to be one hell of a "cowboy" not to understand that galloping a horse like that on pavement is going to lame him up. Is the guy a moron or what? And what's Goff's argument? That his cause is so noble that it's worth crippling a horse?

That's exactly what it is. The horse doesn't matter, and people saying the horse was clearly injured are racists

Why are people questioning how a grown ass black man is doing his job?

My favorite reaction to this is that it's "white supremacy" at work.

If that's true it shows exactly how uneducated he is. Because crippling horses does nothing to help "black bodies". What's next? A bonfire of cats to raise awareness that Amy Coney Barrett is about to end abortions?

The cowboy doesn’t get to keep this horse right?

There has to be some sort of animal endangerment charge, or possible animal abuse here, right?

And yes I’m one of the weird people who cares more about the plight of animals than humans in most every case.

Goff lost me forever here.

A Chicago man who was cast by Mayor Lori Lightfoot as the “Census Cowboy” whipped his collapsed, exhausted horse to make it continue running down the Dan Ryan Expressway on Monday afternoon, prosecutors say. The horse, named NuNu, is in critical condition and may have to be destroyed, according to allegations made during a bond hearing today.

Assistant State’s Attorney Kevin Deboni said Adam Hollingsworth’s horse was not shoed when he took it “trotting for miles” in a “Kids’ Lives Matter” protest, injuring the horse’s legs and feet.

NuNu collapsed at one point, but Hollingsworth whipped it to keep it moving, Deboni said. Two veterinarians who later examined the horse said it “suffered greatly, bled profusely,” collapsed repeatedly, and was not correctly saddled and cushioned, according to Deboni.

Hollingsworth recently posted a social media video in which he said he “would ride his horse until it died,” Deboni said.

After the 7-plus mile run, the animal’s heart was racing at twice its normal rate, and its eyes were so dilated, they “looked like cartoon eyes,” he continued.

Both veterinarians concluded that NuNu would have died had medial attention not been given. Yet, the horse remains in critical condition. It “will never be deemed suitable to ride again, and it may need to be euthanized,” Deboni told Cook County Judge David Navarro.

One veterinarian reportedly told investigators that NuNu’s treatment was equivalent to “making an 80-year-old woman run a full marathon,” according to Deboni.

Prosecutors charged Hollingsworth with animal cruelty, reckless conduct, trespass to state land, and traffic violations.

Emily Bock, his public defender, disputed the extent of any injuries the animal may have received and said Hollingsworth is “known for” riding horses. NuNu was well-fed, and saddle sores are common, she countered. Bock said experts disagree about whether horses need to be shoed to walk on concrete.

Hollingsworth is married, a father of one, and “a pillar in the community,” Bock said as she asked Navarro to release the 33-year-old on a recognizance bond.

“Your attorney referred to a protest,” Navarro said after hearing from the attorneys. “The horse doesn’t know that it’s part of a protest.” Navarro said the treatment described by prosecutors “appears criminal” as he recounted allegations that NuNu collapsed and was beaten to get up.

“Reference is made to the census,” Navarro told Hollingsworth. “I don’t know what any of this has to do with promotion of the census…It has more to do with promotion of yourself.”

The judge then set bail at $25,000. Hollingsworth can get out of jail by posting a $2,500 deposit bond.

“Thank you, your honor,” Hollingsworth said.

Shod or unshod, galloping on concrete like that will lame up a horse. What he did was obscene whether or not the horse was shod. If he had typical shoes on he would have been slipping all over the place though.

I saw a good portion of this live. The "Cowboy" has 4 other horses. If he's willing to treat this one like this on live TV then I wonder what condition the other ones are in. Carol Marin, who owns horses, apparently called in to say that rider didn't know what he was doing, the saddle was not on properly, and the horse looked distressed. The horse fell or refused to run several times during this and was buzzed by cars a few times.

You know what, to hell with Jason for trying to add this to the race war. "Don't abuse animals" should be a universal issue. I care about an accurate census, I don't want to see kids get shot, and I don't want to see someone run a horse to death on the Dan Ryan as a dumb stunt.
