Also, Chet is starting to hawk the book which somebody ghostwrote for Otis Wilson and has Chet's name on it. (Chet may have actually written it, but I suspect there's another editor there making it coherent.) A book about Otis Wilson which isn't going to have stories of him terrorizing women with his giant manhood just doesn't seem worth buying.

When Chet had his other book out a few years ago, he was offering to speak to your group in the city and sign copies in exchange for a guarantee of 20 books sold. One of my cousins and I flirted with the idea of buying the 20 books just to have Chet have to join us at Carmichael's (that's how long ago it was) and field questions about Jack Brickhouse's sexual habits, and then donate the books for the tax writeoff.

The first episode is damn good, IMO. The first segment is a good tone setter for Mac's knowledge and love of football, the second is a great story of his time at The Drive, and what's been going on since.

I'd say that this Mac doesn't sound as, I don't know, loose as the Mac that was featured on Dr. Ken's podcast, but that may be because there was no relative jumping off point for this show, as well as going it solo, so some of it sounds a little talking-point-driven, but in the end it is still compelling and entertaining all the way through.

He was checking boxes for sure. With a little organization, it should be decent. He was always a must listen for me, and it will remain that way. I love his straightforward, plain spoken approach. He tells it like it is. He didn't hold back on in market radio execs, and he was very clear on his Cutler views.

It was good.

It felt scripted at first.

But it needs a break. A commercial or something to take a break 2 or 3 times.

The part where he goes after the past stations was hard to listen to. You could feel the negativity and bitterness. I had to turn it off after that.

I wouldn't mind North doing a show like this if he just stuck to sports.

It was an alright first time. Felt like he was reading throughout the first segment. He need someone else there to bounce things off of.

I'd say make it Mac and Co. and bring in different people for each show. He should lengthen it as well. Make it an hour. Have different reoccurring segments/guests. I'd say copy the Bill Simmons structure and go from there.

Several of the podcasts I listen to have a 30-45 second read for an affiliate based commercial (like the "put DAN in the radio box") stuff. I can't imagine that any reasonable listener would get pissed if he did that at the 10 and 30 minute marks for a 40 minute podcast. I mean how many times have we heard the Home Run Inn Pizza hotline or the Chicago Wolves update studio?

He did a read for Tweaked Audio, which I think is a sponsor of the entire Radio Misfits Network, but I'm sure Mac can find a lucrative local sponsor better than some shady outfit dealing in knockoff electronics.

Thought those 39 minutes were more compelling than anything I've heard on the Score since Terry left.

Can he keep it up for 2 episodes a week? I'm sure for football season he'll be fine, but once hockey comes I'm not sure I'll stay tuned.

Him going in on J Leman was hilarious, good stuff that is currently missed on the score.

What's the current schedule - Tuesday's and another day? If it's only for 30-40 minutes, doesn't seem long enough to get my interest, but would probably listen if it was 2 hours a shot.

Why do you think Mac is doing a podcast? Did Mitch Rosen offer him so little he figured it's not worth dealing with a program manager? Does he make any money from this podcast? It's a shame 670 doesn't have any real men on the station anymore. Mac was the last of them. Now they have nothing but SJW's
