Danny Parkins announced today he is leaving his afternoon drive show at 610 Sports Radio in Kansas City. The word on the street is Parkins is taking a role (likely as a M-F host in a TBD daypart) at 670 The Score or ESPN 1000.

Don't know much about him, but there are overwhelmingly positive comments from people when he tweeted about his departure. That comment from the message board is probably more of an outlier.

if thats the case, the callers will hold him accountable and id be curious to see if Dan would immediately be in "Defend the New Guy" mode, or just let him find his way in the new pool

But if it was anybody at ESPN 1000, they'd have been fired by now. At least one would think. It sounds like he's hired, so why would ESPN management not have fired anybody by now?

For The Score, the addition would be interesting and unexpected no matter who he gets paired with. For 1000, where there would have to be a lineup shuffle or a permanent addition in evenings (6P-10P), it would be a lower risk move but a new voice.

In either instance, a station would be giving a 30-year old host from Market No. 34 a giant opportunity.

If it's not "Bulldog" Bob Fescoe, keep it.

You might be right. This guy seems like he would challenge Bernstein. Mitch doesn't want that. Giving Goff back to Bernstein would make more sense since Goff worships Bernstein and has become black Bernstein.

Cuz Mac got this info. He probably got it from Spiegel. Perkins to the SCORE seems 99% likely. Just of matter of which slot.

Because that story about a 3rd Chicago sports-talker said they got approval to build an antenna from the FCC. I doubt a station would hire talent before they even have a working transmitter.

That was the only real shame of Rogue One ... you've got Red and Gold squadrons in there for fan service, why not have Porkins be there kicking ass and taking names so he can save face from just going out like a bitch in ANH.

It would just be too coincidental with the open spot at the SCORE, Perkins leaving his KC station, and Mac knowing about it, that it wouldn't be Perkins to the SCORE.
