February was far enough removed from the Boers retirement that this book is squarely on the shoulders of the talent on the air, the lineup of which is largely the same relative to what it was this time last year (when they did a 3.6 and were beating WMVP in the key demo), with Parkins being the only new face. The SJW routine needs to be reigned in to bring back listeners when the Cubs aren't playing, adding Julie will only exacerbate the problems we now see.

That group of people is just as lousy as the SJW movement on the internet. They're actually extremely similar and it's a shame that neither side realizes it. The BadRogue's and JLN's of the world have more in common with Julie DiCaro than the entire score roster.

There is a difference between injecting social/political speech to topics like with sports or regional pop culture brotalk and demanding, as a consumer, that social/political speech be left out of those arenas. I dont necessarily see complaints about DiCaro or the B&G show as necessarily taking the anti to social justice (sometimes they are), just an exasperation with that type of language. The whole "stuff white people like lol!" humor originated almost 10 years ago now with that dumb blog, and the giant pile of uninspired, derivative humor that came from it is beyond stale and now actively irritating to anyone who isn't just playing catchup to the cultural zeitgeist of 2010.

Once upon a time it was funny to make fun of white people rage, which was kind of a way at poking fun at those not self aware enough to realize the developing shadow-world on the internet would make fun of anybody who seemed like an old fashioned stick in the mud amidst the euphoria of first-term Obama. That's over now though, and when you just accuse people of being racist (but these time in a more serious tone) its a to a desensitized audience that isn't as interested in groveling for your approval as it was then.

In the pre-internet age, all these dumb stories like the Emmett Till painting story posted today, or whatever Julie DiCaro is eating her 2nd lunch over would just be laughed at or ignored 20+ years ago. There is some truth in this, but I would argue that the push back against Bernstein and JDC is not so much anti-SJW (I would argue the alt-right is like SJWs though). The push back against them is more of a we want our sports radio to be sports radio and our political radio to be political radio. We tune into one and not the other for a reason.

If I wanted politics I'd be listening to Rush or some Daily Kos podcast instead of Kap.
