But, given the number of posts you have defending them, their ratings, their content, etc., it's pretty clear you DO care. All the while, the W&S show gets mentioned outside of B&G pretty much never. But both could be true: the relatively small number of posters on this board could have stopped or reduced listening to B&G. (I personally fall into the latter category--I used to be 2+ hours per day, now less than 30 minutes). However, their ratings, whether it be Cubs-related or just a different demographic from this board, might be fine to their employers. That does not equate with the fact that most of the people on this board enjoy them less, and listen less, than they did a few years ago. (Aside: I'm streaming them as I write this. They are discussing NBA point guards. This is at the beginning of the MLB playoffs, which includes a local team, and the "middle" of the NFL season. I believe both MLB playoffs and NFL are more interesting radio than Russell Westbrook, but I guess I could be wrong. In any case, I've stopped streaming, which is easily measured by Radio.com, but not necessarily reflected in any ratings). |

WSCR down to a 3.6 in the overall ratings for November of 2017, down from their 4.9 mark in October. WMVP made pretty significant gains in the overall ratings, for whatever that is worth, going from a low of 1.3 in August of this year to a 2.4 overall share. Given how close MVP was to WSCR in the key demo ratings while pulling a 1.3 share in August, I predict that MVP has taken the Key Demo Crown from The Score, and Mitch has nobody to thank but Bernstein & Goff. |

When MVP was doing a 1.6 in July, they were neck-and-neck with The Score in the demo in afternoons, who were up near a 4 overall share. Now with a 3.6 from SCR and a 2.4 from MVP overall, that has got to be indicative of 1000 taking the key demo back. The guy who wrote about the demo breakdowns in July does these things quarterly, so another one should be coming soon, I would think. |

Bernstein is best suited to host a high brow, liberal cooking show on PBS radio these days. Why would anyone want to listen to a crusty, old smartypants on the afternoon drive? Parkins is probably the only one worth a damn in the daytime lineup. There is a guy that drives the afteroon drive show in Milwaukee that is from chicago and is a bears/cubs fan. They might want to consider poaching him and pairing him with Parkins. |
