wanted to play college football but wasn't smart about his search and only lasted until his sophomore season. He could have played four years at a D III (which is probably true but fibbing in a Sir sort of way)

Remember, this is a guy who went to Michigan, appears to be under 5'9" and didn't seem to have any muscles as a young man before he started doing 1,000 pushups per day. I wish I could find those pictures of a young Hub at ESPN first NFL draft coverage to use as a reference point.

If this guy is suggesting he was actually on the Michigan football team, I'm gonna say it was as the waterboy.

He has intimated it but I think the official story is that he started at SIU (I don't believe he could play football on that level either) then transferred to Michigan. He has never really cleared the record about whether he played at Michigan. There should be an SIU printed roster somewhere that would prove he played for the team. Hasn't he also said he was a DL? I have a hard time believing he played varsity in high school
