I don't listen to local sports talk in other markets, but I was curious: Is it similar to 670... a bunch liberal Caller Bobs in their 30's ruining the original concept of sports talk? Do they go on about social issues and lecture us how football is too rough to handle anymore etc... I think Mitch Rosen is just a big gigantic fat Caller Bob! Yes, I said it

No. Here it is nothing like the crap 670 puts on. That is especially true of the Bernsie and Goff. No BS and if they have a fault it is on side of fun. That in my book is the side to error on.

Also, it was a very long time ago but Detroit had like three stations and none of them sounded like B&G to me.

Most shows in smaller markets are like Mark Carmen or Connor McDoink. Parkins came from afternoon drive in KC, I remember listening to him there when I was in town for Cubs-Royals a couple of years ago. My comment at the time to the relative I was with was that McDoink could be mid-day there without an issue.

In NC, there is a statewide show that airs on a patchwork network from noon-3 that covers mostly college sports and the Panthers, with a little bit of Hurricanes mixed in. The local Raleigh afternoon drive show is not particularly edgy but more like a poor man's Carmen and Jurko.

When I was over in sf during thanksgiving sports radio was orrery good. They stick to sports. You would think the opposite due to the liberal stance of the area but they do a good job sticking to sports. It also probably helps have a team like the warriors to talk about. Like the 90s bulls.

Minneapolis has quite a few good local shows that have fun and kimit the meatball callers. When they do touch political or social topics, they don't tend to get on any SJW high horses.

Touching on the social or political is not a problem. Preaching non stop about being on the wrong side of history is. Going non stop on an issue like Bernsie did on PSU or CTE is never acceptable.

Agreed. I don't need my sports talk shows to talk sports 24/7 but B&G have gone way too far. Plus, they are obnoxious, preachy, and self-righteous about their message which is why I have completely tuned out.

IMO, a stick to sports only show is generally too boring for my taste. You need a healthy mix of sports and other stuff....

I have lived in Dallas/Fort Worth for about 2 years now after being a lifelong Chicago suburbs guy and a Scorehead from Day 1. I could barely listen to the Score at the end of 2015 early 2016 before I made the move. I am now hooked on KTCK "The Ticket." It's the best sports talk I have ever heard. Good sports info, a couple of the hosts are Chicago transplants so you still get a good dose of Chicago news in among the Cowboys, Mavs, Stars and Rangers news.

It is a lot like the early Score in that the hosts mostly get along and they do lots of good transition as well as group broadcasts and events where all the shows interact and usually wind up being quite funny. They recently did the annual "White Elephant" broadcast whare they throw all the on-air personalities and board guys names into a hat and draw for the programming line-up.

The only time they aren't local is overnights when they run Farrell's show.

They won their 3rd Marconi this year.

No SJW radio at all. Makes it so much more listenable.

There's only one sports talk station in Phoenix. Other sports stations around the country call themselves "The Game," "The Fan," "The Ticket," "The Score," etc. Our station went with "Arizona Sports."

They have a monopoly on all teams. Every game for the Suns, Cardinals, D-Backs, Coyotes, ASU football + baseball, can be heard on "Arizona Sports" or its sister station down the dial.

Don't care for their lineup. Dull and bland. Soft ball questions and no improvising when doing interviews. Too much national talk.

I'll tune into John Gambadoro's afternoon show occasionally. He has actual legitimate sources, especially with the Suns. When he says something he's almost always right. Sports talk in AZ hasn't been the same since Gambadoro and Mark Asher were a pair. Great afternoon show that lasted 12 or 13 years. Then the station got cheap and let Asher go.

Chet does look good and he is pulling some fine tail at 68...unless she is one of those ladies that sit at the bars of restaurants in the Viagra triangle awaiting a date.

Can't agree more. Best talk radio for any format. I hate when people describe sports talk as having a "Frat House Feel". This is more of "Hangin' out at your friend's apartment and getting a little high and talk about whatever feel". The hosts are funny, talented and really work hard to create a good show. They don't consider themselves journalists so they openly root for their local teams. PC doesn't exist for the most part but they don't try to offend anyone. Things are what they are and they just talk about it and dont try to fix it. They dont beat a topic to death and talk about sports maybe half the time, if that. I have been listening for 10+ years and continue to listen because I like them and not because I want to hear something to make me hate them. This week they have a campaign to "Raise Awareness for Awareness". https://www.gofundme.com/gjvm4-the-awareness-campaigntm. The comments are the best.

Check them out if you have any balls at all!!!

No, she's been pictured with him for years now.

His kids show up in photos occasionally. His daughter is attractive.
