yes I know this is a dick move, but I think we can light up some text lines tomorrow and ask them how they feel about their job security.

She's too inconsequential to be fired. Barring a real social media fuck up, she's there for awhile.

She is a social media fuck up though.

i'd say the only 2 safe people at the station are M&H as while I think they suck, they still do bring in great ratings for the station month after month. With performance like that, they are safe to stay. Everyone else is under-performing and thus possibly on the block

Interesting.

1. You guys say Goff has a 3 year deal. I've heard him say it's 2 years. Whatever. They'll eat it if they think it's for the greater good.

2. No way it would be "Mac & Bernstein". We all know that can't happen. Even Mac knows that would be horrible.

3. It would be "Mac & Spiegel" with Parkins going to Bernstein. Or "Mac & Parkins" with Spiegel going to Bernstein. But Spiegel and Bernstein wouldn't make sense because they hate each other. So it would be the former.

4. As you guys have said, this is why Goff has been pissy over Mac returning and why he's using his vacation.

5. Mitch realizes he has to get rid of Goff and Julie. Those two can then team up on a podcast to fight racism and sexism. But you'll have to pay $1 per month to hear it.

she is awful, but she is also a part timer with no benefits package so she is very cheap. They need to trim some fat and Julie's compensation package wouldn't be much to trim.

Three years started when? With the new show?

Yes. He announced that on Facebook once when someone criticized him.

Guys get fired all the time mid-deal. Pretty sure it’s a two-year. And he more than likely has a non-compete, so he just couldn’t work elsewhere until the deal expires. Honestly I could see both he AND Dan gone.

They don't have to fire him. Demote his useless ass. Banish to Julies 10-12 slot. Playa.

Yes.

Changes are definitely coming. And most likely in the next 30 days.

Dan also gave a shoutout to this board by name at the same time. I was half-asleep and had to hit the back button to make sure I heard it correctly.

Kicking Jason upstairs to C-B-S-SPORTS-RA-DI-O!!! is actually a great idea. I think they lost a bunch of their roster to WFAN.

I would say that Mully, Hanley, Parkins, and Senor are all as safe as can be. Les, too, probably, as long as Mitch is around. Live/local overnights is as much a goodwill gesture to Les as it is to the market.

You guys are all talking like the only “outside” addition would be Mac. I wouldn’t start ruling out brand new talent on daypart shifts.

Parkins is safer than even them, imo. No chance he’s going anywhere.

Goff might have one of those deals where it's a SCORE option every year. Larry has one of those as he reports that he reups every year.

What was the time where mac talked about it in his podcast? Roughly. I don't want to listen to all of it.

If I hear it, I'll tell you what it means. I'm good at this shit.

It took a while, but Mitch really got that hire right. Considering what a hash he'd made of middays in the past (Hamp & Holmes, Spiegel & Mannelly, Spiegel & Goff, you could even stretch and include when he would put Doug & OB at noon after night games so they were in the studio and not in the heat of the moment), I was cautious.

SSP is called The Fan now? Lame. But tell us about this guy.

Oh damn, does Entercom still own SSP? It could happen...

Any Cubs related personalities that might get squeezed into the mix?

Cubs telecasts take up such a big chunk of the day/evening programming for six months...maybe they're shifting...shifts.

They're not putting Bernstein in middays, if that's what you're asking. They should put him in mornings, but he won't do them. YEARS. OFF. YOUR. LIFE.

I agree Parkins is safe, I should have rephrased that as no show is safe. I think Spiegel is on as much of a hot seat as Goff is. Heck, I like Parkins and I would seriously consider pairing him with Mac as that trial run 2 weeks ago was the 1st time I listened in months and I enjoyed it.
