Cubs bump only took the Score from 2.3 to 3.2, this is either an indictment of the Cubs' slow and postponement-laden start, the new lineup, or both.

No Sox bump for the Sox, in fact, baseball season dropped their ratings from 2.2 to 2.0.

BMX added on-air personalities and dropped a full point, that's not the way this is supposed to work.

BEZ is up to 3.0, highest I've ever seen them.

I like seeing WBEZ headed in an upward direction.

Apparently not as much as adding Colin Cowherd, Clay whatshisname, and Dan Patrick.

Asshole.

WSCR got a nearly 40% bump in a ratings category that doesn't favor them and they've more than doubled the numbers of their only real competition. I don't think they're particularly concerned.

Same here, but there's something about 'BEZ that rubs me the wrong way. I think it's that it feels kind of sterile compared to some of the eccentricity and idealism of Wisconsin Public Radio (imagine breaking out of NPR middays to have a grandfatherly man read you short stories). Call it the difference between Navy Pier and Madison, I guess.

 still funny about the Sox driving bad ratings even lower. What happened to all the bumper stickers and likes on facebook?

Even when considering that these numbers aren't their target, it's extraordinary how far WGN has fallen since my youth. They were utterly dominant. Next you'll tell me Sears is in trouble.

WMVP down to 1.3 damn did they collapse. Anyone want to bet a good % of that collapse is former W&S listeners who only tuned in because it was better than B&G? I have nothing against WMVP, it's just bland compared to what M&P give me.

I am one of those. I have WSCR on all day in my office. I only consumed B&G during my ride home up until the last month or so. ESPN is very bland.

WLS lost the Sox and fell farther in the ratings. But for Cubbie broadcasts, or Spanish language stations & BEZ everyone else looks stagnant or falling.

and WLS-FM continues to roll. WLS-AM is of course an embarrassment to the great name and is going the way of its founder.

I think about that whenever I'm around Homan Square or on 79th St.(the neighborhood branch)

Why does XRT have an STR category at .2. Streaming I am sure, but it's the only one listed at first glance. Do they ever combine them for stations?

Oh yeah I forgot, they replaced J-Nice and Shelly with the loathsome Drex. They deserve it.

http://www.robertfeder.com/2018/06/12/c ... s-supreme/

Quote:
The reception wasn’t nearly as warm for Kevin “DreX” Buchar, who returned to Chicago radio in April after an eight-year absence. In place of Jamar “J Niice” McNeil and Michelle “Showbiz Shelly” Menaker on Entercom Top 40 WBBM 96.3-FM, Buchar and co-host Nina Hajian debuted in 22nd place. Overall B96 fell to 20th, widening the gap with iHeartMedia Top 40 WKSC 103.5-FM, which tied for seventh.

Todd Cavanah, program director of B96, attributed the downturn to the morning reboot, but expressed confidence the show will succeed. “It just takes time for people to catch on,” Cavanah said. “We will get there.”

Another underperformer was Ed Lover, who signed on in April as morning host at WBMX 104.3-FM, the Entercom classic hip-hop and R&B station. Lover and co-host Jennifer “Jen BT” Farina dropped from 13th to 19th in their first month on 104.3 Jams.

Bad month for Entercom: BMX is hemorrhaging listeners and B96 is 13 spots behind Kiss FM. Out-of-the-box solution: merge the stations by deep-sixing B96 as a top 40 station, given that it obviously can't compete with Kiss FM anymore (Chicago hasn't been a top 40 town since the days of WLS versus WCFL: for most of the '90s, Chicago didn't even have a top 40 station) and run B96 as classic hip-hop/R&B/dance, given that the heritage branding is all they seem to have in their favor these days. It would basically be another generation of WLS-FM wearing the skin of the music-formatted WLS-AM. Then make 104.3 a simulcast of the Score.

And one more time for the world: Drex is terrible.

It's funny, because his first time around with 103.5, he was described as "a colorful personality whose lifestyle-oriented talk is popular with women." God, you'd think it was 1963. What next, he's a "confirmed bachelor"? I guess your wife is one person with whom his "colorful personality and lifestyle-oriented talk" is not popular at all. Yaas, bitchesssss!

Sometimes the simplicity of a 312 post catches the essence of an issue. Sometimes it don't. Wonder his thoughts on the Almond Joy bar.
