With a heavy heart I’ve had to step away from my various ESPN duties to care for my ailing wife and our wonderful 7-year old son. I can’t thank ESPN, my friends & colleagues enough for their unwavering support & concern for my family.

Hope everything turns out ok.

I remember JD talking about how his wife beat some illness a year or so ago. I think it was cancer. Maybe it came back.

I remember Big Fan saying that Zaidman and JD would always be around each other at Bears camp. They both have covered the Bears for over a decade. Makes sense that they would become best friends. They're around each other every day and for the most part being at Halas Hall is pretty much just waiting for hours until you get one or two interviews at the podium. So the media has all the time in the world to talk to each other.
