I got to be honest, he often had some really terrible thoughts while covering the Blackhawks. He's the guy that pined for Khabibulin at the start of the 2010 season. He also was a supporter of John Scott. That said, that's really crazy to get laid off like that. No one deserves that.

The only thing I can think of is that they decided not to send a writer with the Sox on the road. The Daily Herald did that with Bruce Miles and the Cubs during the worst tanking years.

Kuc's Blackhawks thoughts weren't the greatest, but I'm old enough to remember Hanley on the Blackhawks' beat and he wasn't exactly David Brinkley either.
