Per NFL.com...Cole Wright was born in Joliet, Ill. He attended Waubonsie Valley High School outside of Chicago, lettering in baseball and helping to lead the team to the state championship game his senior year. Wright continued his baseball career at the junior college level, playing two seasons at Waubonsee Community College. He eventually graduated from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa, earning a B.A. in Communications in 2003. Wright and his wife, Reagan, have a daughter named Paisley. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, working out, going to the beach with his family, and watching baseball, remaining a passionate fan of his hometown Chicago Cubs. |

This was confirmed at the Cubs convention. https://awfulannouncing.com/local-netwo ... mming.html new on-field person is Taylor McGregor (so not Kelly Crull) a cavalcade of former Cubs will be doing analysis, it doesn't read like there will be one dedicated person doing post game, or maybe they just haven't figured it out yet. They are also promising these former players going to the booth for some periods in the game, which will be bad I'm sure. And oddly, Chris Myers is committed to both studio and play-by-play...I suppose only as a fill-in as he said he's still full time at Fox Sports. All in all, looks like no poaching of other Chicago media personalities. Outside of Doug Glanville I guess. |

Chris Myers as a fill-in guy is interesting. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in 15 years I don't think Len Kasper has ever missed a game. I guess Len could correct me himself, he posts here if Beardown hasn't run him off. I don't recall anyone else ever sitting in. Sounds like they have a lot of people signed. I wonder if Lou Piniella and Doug Glanville will get Comcast to carry the network. |

One of the guys who got YES off the ground is with this goofy channel, and one of the hallmarks of YES is that they have like 27 former Yankees all doing color commentary and no one seems to think any of them are very good. |
