Post subject:  Hub & Herron

Hub seems aware Herron will use the race card on his co-host on the air. Herron called out Shep about a year ago on air for calling him "Pac 10 boy". The topic of the Bear's and black QBs came up. Hub went into full apology mode saying he wasn't sure if he should say black or African American as not to offend anybody. Hub is squirming, and second guessing himself with word choice all of a sudden after being on the Score for ten years?

Hub always sounds nervous.

Yeah. I've noticed that about Hub through the years. He'll say something racy or controversial, then he'll immediately check himself, apologize and take it back. But you always know his initial thought is actually what he thinks. He is nervous and scared about his comments.

I think it's ok to call "Black guys", "Black guys". Don't worry about that one, Hub. You're fine.

Hub and Hub Jr were on Friday night. Right out of the box Hub's first two segments were defending Bears management and then declaring the Cubs the best team in the city. Hub is nothing if not predictable.

I just love that he was a long time cub season ticket holder but canceled just before they had their run of being good.

I listened to some Hub Jr. and I assume Herron last weekend before SB coverage. I thought they did well.

Hub as a guest, fine. Hub as a host....he tries, but no thanks.

Depends who he is with for me. As with most things balance is key. Hub without a real driver wanders around in his head but vocalizes it.

I kind of like Hub's hushed tones for weekend shifts.

He does give you a bit of advanced knowledge in football and covers draft talk better than most locals. Certainly better than "who's your guy" from the people who are making 250K to be knowledgeable about sports.

Hub and Herron are great during the football season. Herron has a great radio voice but I don't care about his thoughts outside of football.
