Dan Ponce seems like a pompous ass. Even in those commercials where they sort of make fun of themselves it looks like he is forcing himself to participate. If you watch the early news it looks like Lauren J can't stand him.

Ponce's mom used to be an artist and collaborated a lot with my next door neighbor, who was a total flake. I think he doesn't understand why he can't get a position on a real newscast, which is because he's kind of a flake himself. He's much more a member of the lucky sperm club than either Lauren or Morgan (whose aunt was a long time TV meteorologist in Milwaukee).

Marcus and Tomasulo add no value to their respective broadcasts. Tomasulo actively detracts from it. Paul Konrad is a goof but he's a self-deprecating one who's been there forever and is comfortable playing the role.

Obviously being 800 miles away, I don't actively watch it daily, although I keep it in my FB feed as a decent summary of overnight news.
