Sometimes a death inspires people to try to fix misunderstandings or make amends. Have seen it turn out well and seen one member of the conflict even angrier. I assume it depends on the character of the parties, their relationship previous to conflict, time and so on. I doubt very much that getting unblocked on Twitter was the motivation. I mean.... yeah.
