I could care less what Goff is doing, as long as it is not on my radio. Why do you think it is a great pain to MANY around here?

Because there is a parade of people cheering his every setback. Wondering if he would make enough as an Uber driver before his Range Rover got repossessed. MANY seemed downright gleeful.

I agree that is pathetic. Wouldn't say MANY. Just a couple goofs.

Good for Jason.

Hopefully it's successful.

There are MANY here that wish for bigger and better things for Hood yet still dislike what Goff became. Is that some sort of conundrum?

I think it’s because he was an unrepentant asshole on the radio. Hopefully he’s a better podcaster than radio host. The Simmons brand name should give him some immediate juice.

Jason spent his last year and change at the Score basically doing podcasts under an FCC license. Other than being allowed to say "shit," I think you'll get what you always got.

So basically , stuff no one wanted to listen to on a 50,000 watt radio station . Sounds like it’s going to be a raving success .

It's probably a better fit in that he can do what he wants to do, which is to tell you The Way Things Are about a topic that interests him with no live feedback from the audience, and not feel burdened by the expectations for what terrestrial radio should be. It's not as if podcasts are the medium in its death throes while AM radio is thriving. That being said, I won't listen.

"Jason Co-Hosts a True Crime Podcast" is a bit I wish I could riff out. It's in the ether there somewhere.

I hope he doesn't get run over by a truck but I think he's a shitty host with a very disagreeable personality. If him getting some podcast decreases the odds of him being a replacement host on the Score then I am all for it. Personally, I'd wish he get some gig anyplace other than Chicago so I never have to hear about him again.

I guess being backed by Bill Simmons operation helps him a little.

But not much. Simmons said it's gonna be a Chicago show. Not a national one. Chicago already knows what Goff's ass is. Simmons isn't gonna convince Chicago to like Goff or not.

It won't be a money maker.

Everybody has a podcast now a days. I heard Goff compliment Larry on getting 1 million total down loads for his stupid podcast. Larry said something like "Yeah, we just make enough to pay everybody that helps the show. That's about it."

It's all bullshit. These stupid podcasts. There is really no money in it unless you are really famous. That's not Goff. I think only a few guys do well in this venture.

I think most who start one of these things give it up quickly cuz they make no money and realize it's just a waste of time.

For example, Bernstein has been successful in regular radio. Don't you think that a smart guy like Bernstein would do this podcast bullshit if he knew it would make him some decent money? Of course he would. He's looked into it. Trust me. He knows it's no money.

The podcast thing is for desperate guys like Goff.

Cum Town grosses $87,197 a month and that's just a guy who dropped out of high school going "good evening, this is the NBC Nightly News, I'm Lester Holt, and I'm gay." There's money in podcasting if people like you.

Yeah. But not enough people like Goff. That's his problem.

It's cool if you have a "Fuck you" attitude. But you have to have talent. Goff has the "Fuck you" thing down without the talent.

Goff is an occasional guest on NC radio for NBA-related stuff, I guess the contacts were made in his Atlanta days.

If he can find an audience, good for him. I still think he should have gone the Shannon Penn route and become a strong national show producer who has better mentors than Dan Bernstein and Mitch Rosen. It might have required moving to Bristol or New York or Miami, but it would have made him a better host in the long run.

Did he really get his car repossessed or is that just CFMB rumor?

I think it was just an assumption made by some of the board's more strident members.

I thought it seemed random for Goff to get a podcast on a L.A. based website but then I saw Dan Zampillo is in-charge of podcasts for the Ringer and it all makes sense.

That's why I have no respect for Goff, Bernstein, or any of these guys. Even Mac.

All of them used to be the fun make fun of shit types that Barstool now thankfully provides us with. The problem is, these phonies all pretended to evolve and act like they never were the people they were in the past. I'd actually have respect for them if they embraced that past rather than pretended it didn't exist. I had no love or sympathy for Mac when he got canned last year partially because he went down the woke path with Bernstein and pretended to be a different person until he made the 1 slip up that got him canned.

I do find it funny that the last thing Dan Bernstein got in trouble for was his dig at Cheryl Scott considering her now fiancé is very involved with Barstool Chicago. If someone from Barstool made that type of dig, the Dan Bernsteins of the world would never forgive them for it.
