Bears will probably need to critique Fields a bit publicly over these next several months to help create a better market for the 1st pick. Any negative news you hear on Fields through April should probably be viewed through that lens.

He noted that by getting 1/1, the Bears will be drafting ahead of Houston - a team that needs a QB. His sources tell him this could make the first pick more valuable, either via trade to Houston to ensure they get their guy, or to some other team that wants to jump in front of the Texans and get their guy.

In his analysis, this type of trade would be better than trading 1/1 to Washington, a team locked into the 16th pick.
