They are filtering and diluting the product to the point that it is at best tedious, likely due to numerous contributing factors that have been discussed here frequently.

Have always heard that the best pro wrestling bits are basically that person magnified by 1,000%, too many of the current hosts are trying to be something they are not, and really have very little emotional investment in local sports teams, hard to pull of a daily talk sports talk show under those circumstances, and they are afraid they will be exposed by actually interacting with people that disagree with them. Do also find it interesting that they have resorted to playing stuff from other markets where the hosts go off on rants because they actually do care about the local teams or allow callers to challenge them, incredibly lame, but an indictment of the stations inability to actually create any entertaining content.

Personally, I'd rather they drop the current partnerships with teams like the Cubs, and unshackle the hosts from stirring the pot. I don't really care if they lose access to the locker rooms. I think it would be a more entertaining product.
