Instead of running three adult contemporary stations in Waukegan, Crystal Lake, and Joliet that are basically the same, they're just going to simulcast one station over three frequencies as "Star FM" and cut in small bits of Local Flavor here and there. Frankly, I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner. It doesn't make perfect sense, because the only reason you'd listen to XLC over the Mix is because you want to win gift certificates to a hair salon in Grayslake, but it doesn't have to make sense. Company's broke!

  I'm almost surprised you didn't drop a more obscure Lake County reference, such as Wildwood, Mettawa, or Hawthorn Woods

I don't think Wildwood is real, and I'm not 100% sure about Old Mill Creek, either.

Wildwood is just upscale Gages Lake

Old Mill Creek is real...I live just down the street. Old Mill Creek could also dba as "Millburn". Lots of old money....so much money that when the long overdue widening of Rt. 45 happened, they moved it West right in the middle of a Lindenhurst subdivision...protected all the farm land and horse areas within Old Mill Creek.

Fun fact...Bruce Wolf lives on one of these farms in Old Mill Creek.

Worth is a village, I only know that because an acquaintance lives there.

It's the "friendly village".
