I thought I would be moderately interested in killing some time listening to this. I could not have been more wrong. There is no video at all.

Also, from what I can tell nobody else speaks but Mike North. Five episodes of Mike North talking about Mike North? No thank you.

I have said before, I do think a Mike North documentary if done right would be really compelling, the problem with Mike North being involved at all is that the documentary locigally concludes with the Webio/Monsters in the Morning disaster. It is a movie about hubris and the folly of Mike, not a story that ends with the underdog in triumph like North would like to believe.

Maybe you haven't heard of the Odds Couple, pal. They were 4-0 this weekend.

The Monsters had a good run, some of the best caller interactions you will ever hear on talk radio, some entertaining stuff for several years.

North seemed to get in the ear of the stations management and convinced them to rework the stations lineup which started his slow but steady decline at the station.

Remember going to Platteville and watching him and Uncle Terry work the crowd during breaks, and then several years later watching him ignore the crowd at Bourbonnais, he seemed to lose interest in doing what made him successful. Fred was happy to talk with us, but North felt he was too big a star.

Cannot feel bad for him because he got some of the best paydays in the history of Chicago sports talk radio.

Think I still have the tchotchkes I got for being the "MNMS Emailer of the Day", somewhere in the house, I know you are all happy for me.

there is a third act, if anyone cares, but I think the perfect ending is something like Ray Liotta standing in his robe outside a suburban house in Goodfellas

I think Mike became like that in real life as well. He's about a generation older than me but we have a lot of interconnectedness. He's no longer as beloved in the Roger's Park area as he'd have you believe.

what happened to the movie deal about his life story? I remember he was on some cable show like 10 years ago, AMC or AE and he was talking even back then they were going to make a movie.

Probably figured out the movie would lose money because no one but the 50 people here would even think about watching it.
