Hub is alright as a fill in because he's so old time radio-ey. Just his patterns and sayings. Feels like Im listening to the radio in 1962

I don't hate Hub, he has a decent radio voice, knows more about other sports then Mully and Hanley combined, treats callers with respect most of the time.....

But to think he deserves his own ALS is simply wacky talk.

Exactly. The hosts who prognosticate the most are likely to be wrong an awful lot. Hub goes out on a limb very often, so it's to be expected that some of his predictions don't pan out.

North used to do the same thing. Others (like Bernstein) can't be bothered to predict anything, thus ensuring that it won't bite him on the ass later. That's the safe way of doing things. Like I said, Hub is just a strong believer in his own opinion. And if you're going to have an opinion and be in media, why wouldn't you believe in what you're saying?

I don't think I can answer the question...other people are wrong, no doubt, but Hub manages to do it in a way that calls undue attention to him from message board posters. And that, I think, is my point....I think

Being wrong is alright, but if you are going to throw it out there be sure not to come off as a total douche bag.

The Professor over at ESPN. You can pretty much take whatever he reports to the bank. It isn't an unfair comparison as Hub is supposed to be an league wide expert with a network of inside information for his magazine.

I'll listen and see. I have never analyzed what he says, just that he says a lot. The similarities are good. Only difference might be that Hub does attempt to spray to all fields here whereas the Professor I believe speaks only NFL. For the purpose of my question though that isn't relevant.
