Re: Hub is often just plain wrong

Last week after the Cutler red zone stuff he said Indy fans have the same problem. Twice today announcers have said Indy fans stay quiet when the colts are on offense, and I've heard the same thing said in a few different mediums as well.

Hi SomeGuy!

Dude.

I'm fighting a hangover with Miller Lite...I'm on the cusp of a hangover, trying to fight it with beers. It was my wife's idea to get hair of the dog so I would be able to function and help her paint our front porch.

How cool is that?

Well of course they are quiet this week...there's the threat of a certain someone going all something on them if they don't keep their traps shut.

Yeah, Indy fans have been famous since the early days of Peyton Manning for STFUing when the Colts are on offense. They trained them well at the beginning of the era to the point that it is ingrained.

Well they are losing to Buffalo so he's good either way.

Also, it looks like Phil Emery did an awesome job scouting talent for the Chiefs.

I love Hub but he's been way off, even for him, lately. He must have a list of guys he just doesn't like.

His critique of Jennings last week was embarrassing as I said in that other thread.

Yesterday he said, "Cutler isn't an elite QB. He isn't a good QB. He isn't even a winning QB even though his record is a couple games above .500 I think." Besides the fact that that alone would, in truth, make you a "winning QB", he's 30-18 with the Bears which is a 10 win a season clip.

He could have stopped after the "isn't a good QB" part and I wouldn't have an issue but he has to push it too far and undermine his point by showing an obvious bias.

I too am a big Hub fan, but he sure is having a bad season. Wow. At least he stopped wearing the earing. Earings on guys no matter how old they are look ridiculous.

I was with you until that last sentence. I'll have to respectfully disagree with you on that.

I agree with that.

I just disagree with Scorehead saying that earrings on any guy looks ridiculous.

I won't go as far as to say it cannot look good but I don't remember ever seeing a dude with an earing and thinking it added anything.

What is it about Hub that you enjoy? The smarmy snickering? The snarky, passive-aggressive remarks? The horrid predictions? The bad football info? Not knowing what is going on with his own "publication"? This thread sucks.

Man, you are, but this one is SO bad. Do you promise that there is NO irony/sarcasm involved with this? PROMISE?

Your former heroes, B&B, used to hate him....right? Surely, once his deal is not renewed by WSCR, they will turn on him once again and mock the over their over the top "TUESDAYS ARE FOR US, BUT WEDNESDAY HE IS ALL YOURS!!!" behavior, right?

No irony or sarcasm. I find his segments and his shows enjoyable. I don't know enough about football to have my sensibilities offended, so his opinions don't bother me. Also, I can live with the smarm. He's not disrespectful to the people around him or his callers...he just believes in his opinions. I respect that.

B&B were never my "heroes", but yes, there was a dislike between B&B and Hub years ago.

Hub, on CTL, just said "Shouldn't anyone named Shabazz automatically be investigated?"

gotta love some NBC-branded racism, eh?

Yes, all of that. It's just about entertainment. If I need better info or a less snarky delivery, there's plenty of places I can get that too.

Post subject:  Re: The Official Hub Arkush ALS (this is not a bit)

I guess I've just never liked him....always so snarky, so smarmy, such a condescending bag. Add to it that awful snicker, and the less than stellar self-deprecating humor, and well I guess it'd be one thing if his football information was anywhere near excellent...or unique....or newsworthy. But it's not. Hell, yesterday (for example) he had no idea about Gould's statements about the turf at Soldier Field....and this wasn't the first time he was surprised at some information that the guys wanted him to expand on.

I wouldn't be nearly as critical as I am if it wasn't HIS BUSINESS TO KNOW A LOT OF CRAP. It's literally his job, and time and time again he is caught not knowing what is going on and relies so heavily (now) on being able to redirect a direct question into a "well, all I can tell you is that I was on the sideline for that game and from what I saw, and I don't know if the cameras caught this, heh, snicker, it didn't appear that there was any love loss between....hang on, I just got a text from one of my editors and he's saying that this three day old story that we're just getting at PFW is legit" type comment.

I don't know how exactly his operation stays afloat, but all I can guess is the there is some dude named David Hernandez who is assembling a pyramid.

But, yah, great guy....can't wait for him to "move on" from The Score so we can hear everyone at the station rip him like the over compensating cowards they are!
