Sometimes you have to split your infinitives: "to boldly go where no man has gone before." It's like the "don't end with a preposition" rule, where slavish devotion to it can make you sound clunkier than you would have if you'd just broken the damn rule in the first place.

I'd have said "not to support us," though.

It's okay to split an infinitive if you need to add an adverb that specifically describes the verb in the infinitive phrase, as your example illustrates.

Oh... she "studied" journalism and French at Indiana before she went to law school.
So... she didn't exactly go to journalism school. She took a few classes. Maybe. She might as well say she went to French school.

Journalism is an undergraduate degree.

Law school is a post-graduate program.

One can get an undergraduate degree in journalism and then go onto law school. Many law school attendees major in writing-heavy undergraduate majors

Some universities have Journalism schools as part of the university. I'm sure all the Medill people st Northwestern say they are in Journalism school.

If more women showed up to games than men, they might. But, I can't remember those days they celebrate men other than a father's day thing.
