The thing is with this thread , for every tweet that gets brought here to be made fun of , there's literally at least 5 more per day equally as ridiculous that get passed over . Shes borderline insane .

uhhh you do pay for your healthcare in France. Its called the carte vitale, looks like this:

there are newer ones with your picture. Its not different than your health insurance card, they swipe it before and after you go the hospital. It contains all their medical records and stuff, its actually really neat.

If you asked an english-speaking French nurse where to pay they would know what you meant (the exact translation wouldn't match up, but they'd get the gist of it) and tell you where the machine is. The card functions just like a debit card, except its just a public-funded account that gets charged instead of you personally. Julie is clearly making this shit up.

France doesn't have single-payer (it's something like not-for-profit health insurers with modest co-pays) but it's considered a very good system and it's very popular. I will say that France has some serious issues with diagnosis and treatment of autism, which may be more cultural than medical, but pobody's nerfect. Again, better than anything we have or had before.
