Lance Briggs is DULL. He's not very well spoken and is not an interesting person at all. I think Leery has him on for 2 or 3 hours at least once a week.

Maggie Hendricks sounds like a much more hoarse version of Julie. Not good.

I've (intentionally) never heard one second of Julie and Maggie, but Maggie seemed to be very much struggling to find thoughts when paired with Espo last night.

I suspect Julie and Maggie's show is sort of a reverse Velvet Underground, where few people listen, but everyone who listens was already in media. It's blue-check FUBU.

I'll bet she's angling to hook up with the "Stuff" network of podcasts. There's a Stuff You Missed in History podcast that tries to franchise out what Josh and Chuck do on Stuff You Should Know (which is a great podcast). The problem is that the 2 women doing the History podcast try to mimic the casual back and forth that Josh and Chuck have and it comes off as 2 people obviously taking turns saying scripted dialogue. Hard to listen to.

However, I do listen if the subject interests me. A couple months ago at the end they read a letter about a previous episode of the Eastland Disaster where Julie from Chicago had written in to inform them that she loves to listen as she drives home late at night after she hosts her Chicago radio show (seemed like superfluous information of a Chris Farley variety) and that she drives past that spot every day, yadda, yadda, yadda....

I'd be willing to bet that's her angle. She obviously listens and has reached out once with her resume. My hunch.

That won’t solve the base problem with her though, and that is she’s just not funny or an interesting enough personality to pull that off. Just because you want to work in radio doesn’t mean you should be working in radio.

If you heard the two women doing the Stuff History podcast, she'd fit right in. I used to think that it would just take them a while to find a rhythm but, no, they just aren't that great at it. I'm surprised they've kept them on the network.

It doesn't help to have them compared to Josh and Chuck who I think are among the best people doing podcasts out there - being entertaining and informative.
