It just never stops with this dude

In transition with Mac and Parkins they are talking about physical altercations following the deal last night with the Cubs. Parkins asked Larry when the last time he had a physical altercation. He hemmed hawed around a little and then after more prodding says that two times in his adult life he had to be pulled off of someone.

A couple weeks ago he was telling people how he really should have went to law school because he is that bright...

I'm pretty sure one needn't be too bright to go to law school. Right, shakes?

He got into Yale but went to De Paul so law school wouldn't be a stretch.

As I have said with Bernstein, most doctors and lawyers would gladly switch jobs with him, but that was back in the day of working 2-6 and banking 500K. I think Mitch takes care of Sir so he has to be making a decent salary for his two hours of work.

Still, Sir, could very easily go to law school. There are several schools with night programs and I think Loyola even offers an entirely weekend program. Four years of work and we would have ourselves another newly minted lawyer score employee. The shift he holds today would certainly allow for school and he could fit it into any future law job. It would be cool to be, say, a state's attorney by day and then roll over to the studios for a couple of hours at night.

The economics of it probably do not work but if you need it for vanity, I'd love to hear Sir on the air as a law student.

Larry is a complete dope. His interview with Mike Hall was brutal. Lets brag which games we were at for 20 minutes. On another topic, why does he call his wife Panther? Sounds ridiculous.

a little more ridiculous and ten times more awkward when you realize it is short of White Panther

I assume its a joke between the two of them playing off on Black Panther.

However, it seems like a very strange term of endearment for a mixed race couple.

It's not a reference to Black Panther, it's a reference to Dan Bernstein calling erstwhile Bulls benchwarmer Aaron Gray "the White Panther." Yes, Leery's term of endearment for his wife is a recycled Boers & Bernstein bit from 2009. I think it's clear who he really loves.

weird factor just went up a notch.

I just thought it was two comic book nerds having fun with each other.

She should call him Black Moses in honor of Daryl Dawkins.

In transition today with Mac and Parkins ...Larry said he ran a 4.7 back in the day and has a goal of running a sub 5 now to show he is in optimal shape.

First of all, he never ran a 4.7 back in the day and secondly, there is no way in hell he is getting anywhere near a sub 5 now

I ran a 4.8 at football camp junior year and I was a fast little fucker back then. One kid ran a 4.55...I think he ended up at Louisville as a RB.

I don't think many realize just how fast a sub 5 time is....and definitely not something a radio host that pretends to be a great athlete could do.

A laser timed sub 5 is really hard to do. A 4.7 hand time is actually around a 5.

sometimes, when I've been drinking, the memories of the old times are better than the reality but, luckily, no one sticks a microphone in my face

I'm sure the baseball coach stuck him at catcher because he also had the best arm on the team. Those pitchers and CF should thank their lord for that situation or they would have never seen the field.

I listened yesterday when he had Leila Rahmi in studio and a bit today when he was talking to Pete Fiutak. He does something Bernstein often does, which is to read any text that disagrees with him in either an angry-guy voice or a dumb-guy voice.

There are a few, such as Bernstein, who love to put on the thick chicago accent when they are insinuating someone is bigoted or ignorant. They never would attempt to do such a thing with other chicago accents. Tallest Midget has been on this for years as it gives you insight into what Dan thinks of the common man. His push to make you a "smarter listener" and for his other hosts to have degrees from elite schools was a subtle assault on the middle class listener. I don't think the station has recovered from his years as the face of the station.

I am thankful that Rick Telander had a northwestern diploma and Patrick Mannelly had one from Duke. Those degrees made the station better.
