Hopefully Mac comes back to the Score. For whatever faults he has, he's still far better than in any other sports radio guy in this town the past 15-20 years.

True, he was the last link to the old times (I know about M&H but I don't really count them as they are aloof) and just way, way back when but even a short while ago...even with ESPN.

Sadly, I don't think he has the itch to talk sports...or at the very least he doesn't have the itch to talk sports with Meat or Goff. With his explosion the other day he definitely does still have the fire, the passion and the rumble in the tummy.

At this point he is the only thing that would get me to turn 670 back on my car radio. I haven't listened to that station in 2 years or so.

I got some info from a source that Mac was thinking about coming back to the SCORE in a year or so. (I'm not joking)

Christ almighty, just stop. You have a source like Boers has a source.

No. I do have a source on this one.

When have I ever claimed to have a source on anything? Never. This is the only time. Why? Simple. Cuz this is the only time I got something. But I don't care if you don't believe me. Of course you wouldn't. Cuz you hate me. I know that. That's cool.

There is no way that the Score would take Mac back.

Sure, I took some liberties with your full post, but after I read those first three sentences, it made me chuckle.

That is crazy.

The Score would love to have him back. They know what he brings.

There's only a few real "Drivers" left in this town, and he is one of them.

He seemed to not piss off as many people as North.

I think Mac annoys management more than North did. North and bernstein were/are much more polarizing than Mac as far as the listeners are concerned, but Mac seems to have a special knack for pissing off the bosses.

They'd love to have Mac back at their price. LoHo level.

Otherwise they've proven that they can put any two assholes together (slappy and grimace) for less money and get practically the same ratings.

He seems to like to loudly, and publicly, tell other people at a station (sales, promotions, management, etc.) how to do their jobs. He also sounds like a bad teammate. I often find him entertaining and will often listen, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to work with him as it seems like no matter where goes he eventually turns toxic.

When you read the comments in Feder's post, most think Mac is drain on the show.

I think that is pretty much the answer. There's no money left to spend in radio.

Yeah for all the talk about the station being Team Bernstein vs Everyone Else, I always thought it was funny that Mully and Hanley, two of the least Team Bernstein guys at the station, had no problem doing transitions with B&B but wanted nothing to do with Mac and Spiegs.

When did M&H do transition with B&B?

Pretty sure never. Since B&B have never followed M&H.

There were a few days where the order was switched up because of hosts being on remote. I know one was when Mac and Spiegel went to the Super Bowl (http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/01/29/ ... ransition/) but I want to say it happened a few times before that too.

I'm not saying he is or he isn't, but I wouldn't put a lot of stock into an internet comment section.

* * Lips are tightly sealed at Hubbard Radio Chicago, but WDRV-FM/97.1 The Drive morning show co-host Dan McNeil is currently on a suspension for an off-air incident at the station. The suspension, which started at the end of last week, is currently for an indefinite period of time, but could be over with soon as McNeil has been in talks with Hubbard management on a solution that will please all sides.

Boom. Mac works out a buy out where they're not on the hook for all of his contract. Then he plots to get back to the SCORE.

3rd from the bottom is a legit comment from the great Roman Sawczak from the peak Steve & Garry years, not to mention guitar virtuoso for Teenage Radiation. Nice to see that he's still around. Also is there a Michael Gay in the house?

No mention of Mac being part of the Drive's 15th birthday bash they've been promoting the hell out of. It seems like kind of big deal that the co-host of the only personality-themed show on the station isn't going to be a part of this.
