was his deal up and they did not renew or did they have to agree to terms on a buy-out? He might be under a non-compete for some duration of time and span of space.

My guess he that he does some kind of Bears-related show on The Score. Then once the season is over he can go back to whatever he does, which is listen to U2 or something.
