It would seem a logical idea that Kap has wanted to join The SCORE since the Cubs joined them. And with today's changes it must have crushed his ego. Bringing back Mac was no doubt a kick in the sack.

Kaplan is aiming for ESPN national. WSCR would be going backward. He wants Kellerman's or Kornheiser's job.

Kap may end up with better ratings than Bernstein. A homer Cubs fan with baseball season approaching? MANY people like that sort of thing.

With what is happening to ESPN, that doesn't sound like a good idea. I'm sure he is counting on getting an on air slot on the new Cubs channel in a couple years, but doesn't pay the bills till then.

Have him do pre and post as well as in depth interviews for between game programming on a Cubs station they operate for themselves. All Cubs, all the time. Replays of games as well as live broadcasts. Broadcasts of minor league affiliates games, Cubs trivia contests, The Elmhurst Steve state of the Cubs weekly broadcast. Stuff like that.
