Him playing a recording of himself singing Wind Beneath My Wings at the last game will forever haunt my previously cherished ideas about Vin Scully

Never heard that. Don't want to.

Was he the wind beneath his own wings?

No, his wife was so he sang it to her on their anniversary. Then he re-gifted it to Dodgers fans saying they were the wind beneath his wings.

As if it wasnt awkward enough, the Dodgers happened to clinch that game so you have a bunch of 20 something dudes wanting to party standing around listening to a pretty bad recording of an old man singing a Bette Midler song.

Joe Buck lobbied for Scully to call a World Series game, but Scully declined.

What an asshole. Scully would be a national hero for getting Buck out of the booth.
