Don't really give a shit about any of their players but Ueck is a legend, the rare case where the broadcaster is more associated with the franchise than any players who have come and gone, he's never gotten to call a World Series winner, and I hope he can this year.

He most certainly won't shit his pants and call the brewers a bunch of delirious school boys.

The hell with the insecure, jealous Wisconsinites. I hope they lose painfully. I do like Uecker though.

It could be a redux of 2007:

America: "Could this scrappy team of young upstarts continue their improbable winning streak?"
Boston Red Sox: "lol no"

I know we discussed this previously in another thread but I miss the days when the television guys would rotate a few innings with the radio guys.

Maybe I'm waxing nostalgic but those were some good baseball memories of my yoot.

Ueck is a legend. If they make it, I hope he can have a part in the call.

Uh huh.

It crosses my mind now that we don't really have ballplayers who cross over into being broad-based television personalities while still doing baseball like Uecker and Joe Garagiola. Do we? I guess all those jobs have gone to Michael Strahan.

The bad thing about the World Series is the national audience. All season long, the announcer's voice gets associated with that team -- and then once we hit the playoffs, everything is covered by national guys, so you get Joe Buck in your memory instead of Ueck.

I know he doesn't do all the road games anymore, but I'm sure he'll make any further trips this month.

I am not pulling for a team because of an announcer.

Fuck the Brewers.

I hope the Dodgers destroy them

would love to see it as well.

But if the Dodgers do it I would be happy for Lasorda too, after last year's fuckup.

Agree 100%

Plus it would be great to see the dodgers win 1 more for Vin before he kicks off.

I know very few abnoxiois Brewer fans and I almost never see them. I know one very abnoxious Dodger fan who I see consistently so my life will be less annoying if/when they are knocked out.

Although, I’m also one early life move away from being a Dodgers fan, or a Diablos Rojos fan but was saved by DeKalb.

I’m confused what Wisconsinites would be insecure or jealous of exactly.

Maybe they are jealous of our crime or awful traffic.

I like Ueck but not the Brewers.

If I have to pick a team, Doyers all the way.

Love their roots, history and Vin Scully. A legendary voice in the game's rich history.

Was watching the movie 61* the other night and Yankees PA voice, Bob Sheppard was featured prominently.

What a great game, fellas. There's nothing like the WS.

We're also fortunate to have two great teams in one city with 100+ years of historic memories.

Dodgers have too much winning to root for them. They're like the Yankees of the NL. I know the Cards have more WS in the NL but the arrogance.

Use to really like the Dodgers in the 70s/80s. They just didnt play well but they were sort of a regular team.

In the 90s to now they come off as a very arrogant organization.

Aren't there stories about Uecker with women and inappropriate things? In the past? I wonder if they are rumors or jokes or real.

The Dodgers were a dysfunctional mess in the '90s under Fox ownership, and then an even bigger mess under Frank "Cucked By the Poolboy" McCourt. I wouldn't say there was much arrogance to a team that was damn near bankrupt and putting out garbage seasons.
